Sawubona. Maybe it’s faith? Coincidence of just totally random – either way who cares right, the most important thing is no more porridge, oatmeal or whatever you want to call it. What am I talking about? Great question – I’ll tell ya. You see some of my friends aptly nicknamed “caveman” from some of my not so best moments while living in San Diego. Why caveman? Usually because after one or two (more like a helluva lot more) natty ices or Morgan spices my body would start to shift in position where the end result would be arms hanging forward, head stooped and lots of messy ramblings – kinda like a caveman! Yea so what’s this got to do with porridge – or the lack there of?
As you know I’ve come a long way since my booze up filled days and radically changed my priorities and direction in life . I’ve been experimenting the last few months with my training and with my nutrition – best way to learn and grow is to practice what yo preach right?
I’m not going to bore you with al the ins and outs of what I’ve done but I’ve come to a resounding decision that’s gonna totally freak out whoever does my Tesco shopping (I’m too busy to do it myself so I get it done online). They’re gonna be shocked because from now on there’s gonna be some stark omissions from my shopping that were otherwise a staple and an essential everyday food for me…
Getting warmer yet? “Marco, Polo anyone?” It’s not only the porridge that’s gonna be left gathering dust on isle 5 bout half way down beside the granola, muesli and all that other stuff. What are you talking about? – is most def going through your head right now? Psychic as well as a fitpro? Not quiet. I’m going back to my caveman ways – no no not going back to my boozy lifestyle, far from it, them days are gone. Sure I do drink every now and again now but only on particular occasions. I am human ya know
Anyways so yea – caveman – I’m going adopting the Primal/Paleo lifestyle. So what’s the Paleo lifestyle?
Expert on the Paleo lifestyle Robb Wolf describes it as
“The Paleo diet is the healthiest way you can eat because it is the ONLY nutritional approach that works with your genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic!”
Another top Paleo expert Mark Sisson describes it as:
“Our ancestors evolved over millions of years under certain environmental conditions. These conditions (the foods they ate, the amount of sun they got, the sort of movement that was required of them to survive, etc.) shaped their genome. While the world has changed in innumerable ways in the last 10,000 years (for better and worse), the human genome has changed very little and thus only thrives under similar conditions. Simply put, if you want a good future you better listen to the past.”
